Week 12 of Random

Here are some RANDOM photos from this week.

Edie's Photo:  This was taken at the old El Toro Marine Base.  (no I didn't hop a fence or anything)  They put a RV parking lot deep in the base that is somewhat open to the public.  (well open to those who pay to park their RV's there)  To get to it you have to travel down a road that runs thru part of the base.  This is what was along that road behind some fence.  These are some of the housing they use to provide the marines.   It's very sad that it has gone to waste like this.

Week 10 of RANDOM

Edie's Photo:    I had a busy weekend, so I did a quick photo shoot in my kitchen for the word TEA.  (something I have been drinking a ton of lately as I try to get rid of my diet soda habit).  Not the best shot in the world, since the spoon is out of focus, but it does do a nice job of focusing on the tea in the cup.

Here is the RANDOM shot for this week.  Corinna is on a family vacation so I am not sure if she will be posting one.

Edie's random:   It rained this weekend so my photo taken moments were limited to indoors mostly.  Would have liked to have taken a pic of a real rainbow but I suppose this will do instead.

Edie's Photo: So yes.. it is another flower, but I can't help it. It's March and out here in Cali everything is blooming up nice and pretty. Found this one in my back patio area.. it's the only plant we haven't managed to kill yet lol.

Week 7 of RANDOM

ok.. I know I know, we are more than 7 weeks into the new year, so technically this should be the 10 or 11th week of random? But as you can see we are a little bit behind so it is what it is.

I'm still participating in a challenge group over on Facebook, so I will be using some of the topic ideas there as my weekly springboard for my photos.   One of the possible topics.. SPRING.  I went on a walk today with hubby and got to soak in our lovely California weather.   During the walk is when I saw these ladybugs, to me nothing says spring more than some ladybugs and flowers.

Week 5 of RANDOM

Sorry about missing last week's post everyone.  Corinna had a family emergency.  She may not be posting any photos over the next couple of weeks.  Please keep her in your thoughts.

Here is my RANDOM for this week.  This is a picture from the El Toro Marine Base.  They have part of the base open and I was able to take pics of some of the run down buildings.

Week 4 of total RANDOM

Edie's Photo:  It rained a lot this weekend so I decided to take advantage of the situation and get out my macro lens and practice a bit.  Still need to work on it some, Im not thrilled with the depth of field.  (click on the photo to make it bigger and it won't look as blurry...dont know why Blogger is doing that on the smaller photo)

Corinna's photo: I was so excited that I got to be a part of my nephew surprising his girlfriend with a marriage proposal! It was our first time meeting and he asked her at a family dinner.

Edie's Photo:    I have to admit I REALLY like this random thing.  I took a 2 hour walk today and just took shots as I saw them without having to worry about it fitting a theme or topic.   I actually ended up with a few photos I was happy with.  Here is one of those photos:

Week 2 Photos

Edie's Photo:  My sister just recently had a baby and most of my time this week was spent helping her out.   So naturally most of the photos I took this week were of the baby.   This is one of my favorites.   I love how big his yawn gets.  :)

Happy New Year! 01/01/2012

Ok, Sunday Shutterbugs is back and ready to start of 2012 with a bang!  We have some big changes in store for this year that we hope you all will like.

The first change... Sunday Shutterbugs now has their own Facebook page!  We realized that a lot of people still don't blog so it may make it hard for everyone to share their photos here.  However, almost everyone has a Facebook account.   We hope by setting up a Facebook page we can get more people to share their photos and participate in our weekly updates.    We will continue to put our main photos up here, and for those of you who have a blog you are welcome to add a link to your photos in the comment section if you like.   We also hope that the Facebook page might be a great way to spread the word about our little site so again, we can get more people participating and having fun with photos.

The second change..  The last two years Sunday Shutterbugs has based their photos off of a theme of some sort.   Well this year, we will not be doing "themes.   Although Corinna and I had fun with the theme ideas, there were some weeks where the theme didn't float our boat.  Some felt more like a bad homework assignment and less like a fun creative project.    We figured that if we were feeling this way, then there is a chance that others might be feeling that way as well.. so bye bye theme weeks.  

Hmm so what are we going to be taking pictures of then?  Whatever we want!  They are going to be totally random photos of anything whatever we want.  One week might be a sunset photo, the next might be a interesting shot of a kitchen tool, and the one after that might be of one of our kids blowing out candles on their birthday cake.    The same applies to the photos that you guys post.. they can be ANYTHING you want.  The only stipulations we have are 1) that they are taken during the previous week and 2) that the subject matter be suitable for all audiences and 3) that people limit their photos to 1 per week.

So without further ado here is our first photos of 2012...  We hope everyone likes the changes and plays along with us! :)

** I found a cool challenge online that I decided to try.  They suggested going to your back yard, or room, or picking a place in a park and just sit for 10 minutes.  Don't take any photos, just sit and think about what you might want to take a photo of.   Then you have 5 minutes to take pictures of that item or object.  I went to my back patio, which honestly is not that pretty.  On the patio we have our daughters bike sitting there so I came up with the idea of taking photos from different angles and stuff.   I probably would not have thought of taking such a photo had I not done the challenge.

Edie's Photo:  I will admit I took this one a few weeks ago before we picked our assignment.  However I found it so fitting for our theme I had to use it.

Corinna's photo: I was actually hanging out waiting to get a photo of the sunrise, when I saw how the fog was making lines above the field of beans! Thought it was cool so here it is!

October theme - LINES week 1

Yes, yes I know we did lines last week and it was September. Well we like the theme a lot, and lines is such a wide open category that the photo possibilities are endless. So we decided why not keep it around for October too? So that's what we are doing this month. As always feel free to leave your comments and links to your LINES photos in the comments. July week two: theme AMERICA

I know I know... we posted the first week's take on the theme just yesterday and now we are posted the second week's take today. What can I say, this has been a crazy busy July so far.

Edie's AMERICA: My daughter and I went to a little boy's bday party today and they did the whole party up with an Army theme. These little guys were in the gift bag we got to take home. I would have much rather posted a photo showing off some of our brave men & women soldiers but unfortunately I did not get a chance to take any. So these little army men will have to do for this week's shot.
